Wedding Photobooth: Cat & Wayne’s Wedding Part 1

Back in November my good friends Cat & Wayne got married. Since then they’ve set off on a 6 month honeymoon travelling around Asia. I’ve had the less exciting task of wading through the thousands of photos, both sensible and not so, that got taken on that fun and beautiful day. Over Christmas while they have an internet connection, I’ve set up some extended blog posts so they can relive the day. Happy Christmas Mr & Mrs Envis!
First up the Wedding Photobooth, which we set up during the evening reception at Trafalgar Park, Salisbury. Big up to Tarah Coonan who ran the photobooth that evening, and put up with us lot being silly.
Penelope & Daniel’s Rhinefield House Wedding
![]()
I love Rhinefield House in the Autumn, from the drive there through the golden foliage of the New Forest, the house and dramatic clouds reflected in the ornamental lake, to the cosy evenings celebrations in the Great Hall. Penelope and Daniel’s wedding was an autumnal treat, glamourously styled with rich reds and oranges. Penelope is one of those people who is super organised and obsessed with detail, and all credit to her for the fine little touches, from the monogram letters to the hand made menus. She looked amazing in an elegant dress embellished all over with intricate beads, and carried a bouquet of dramatic dark red roses. Daniel was flanked by another glam lady, his sister and best person Lucy. (which seems unusual but she’s the third best lady I’ve come across this year.) The day flew by, from ceremony to afternoon drinks, photos in Rhinefields gorgeous grounds and the dinner and speeches- Here are some highlights. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Richards!

Sneak Preview: Nicola & Matt’s Wedding at Athelhampton House
Winter wedding season is upon us, and the dark nights and chilly weather make for warm and cosy weddings indoors. Nicola and Matt got married at Athelhampton House in Dorset, an opulent 15th manor house filled with historical details and snug open fires, the perfect setting for a winter’s evening celebrations. I’ve picked this photo from the ceremony as a sneak peek, I just love the moment between just the two of them in amongst the room of happy friends and family. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Sleat!

More photos in a few weeks. To stay up to date why not stalk me on facebook.
Melissa & Damian’s Wedding at Southampton Art Gallery

Melissa and I did A level photography together a few years ago. Back then neither of us knew our f stops from our ISOs and we muddled our way through with our new SLR cameras, hand developing prints in the darkroom and going backwards and forwards, giving it another 10 seconds exposure, burning in here, dodging there. A few years and a name change later, it was a real honour that Melissa wanted me to photograph her wedding.
They got married at Southampton Art Gallery which is a brilliant, bright space for a civil ceremony in the centre of the city. Traffic in the centre of the city, not so brilliant, and there was some tense moments waiting for Melissa to arrive. After the lovely ceremony they had drinks in the gallery and then we strolled into the opposite park for some photos while everyone headed off to the Holiday Inn for the reception. The tables were poker themed, with cards as favours, and later on a magician entertained guests with card tricks. Melissa works in child care and loves children who were a big part of the day, running around in the hotel, playing and laughing and filling the dancefloor later on. It was a lovely, family fun day and Melissa and Damian seem so very happy together. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Brierley!

Lisa & Mike’s Wedding at Chilworth Manor, Southampton

Lisa and Mike got married at Chilworth Manor in Southampton on a sunny September day. I love photographing the wedding day but have to admit I sometimes get a bit bored of editing photos, however I have really, really enjoyed going through Lisa & Mike’s day again. It made me think really what a wedding is all about. I do read far too many wedding blogs and magazines and get obsessed over uber stylish designer dresses, or cool homemade table decorations, but actually a wedding is about two people in love, and sharing that with their nearest and dearest and having a really good time. Lisa and Mike look so happy, and there is such fun and excitement coming across in their photos and dress, shoes, venue and flowers aside, THAT is what a wedding is all about. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Moreton, may your happy wedding lead to an even happier marriage!

Victoria & David’s Wedding at Chewton Glen

Vicky & David got married at the pretty village church St Mary’s in Eling, with an elegant reception at Chewton Glen in the New Forest. Everyone always says your wedding day will go by so quickly, and it felt like Vicky & David’s hurtled past at 100 miles an hour and it was 10 o clock before they even got to the first dance. The day did start…erm.. just a little late, due to a minor getting ready crisis and the wonderful New Forest traffic, but David held his nerves and the bride arrived, amazingly calm, in a vintage Rolls Royce. After the warm and personal ceremony we squeezed in a few photos near the Tide Mill at Eling and off to Chewton Glen for the celebrations. The lakeside suite was elegantly dressed with candelabras and coordinating floral arrangements. I loved that later in the evening the couple visited each table and gifted the table centres and flower displays to people who had helped with the wedding- It was a lovely gesture of thanks and made for some very emotional reactions.
Here are some highlights from the day. The full gallery is online for friends and family here.
Thanks to Kathryn from Willowtree Photography for assisting me at this wedding!
