Yesterday I spent the day photographing Jane and Mark’s wedding at Norton Park hotel near Winchester. Despite the early ceremony, the day flew by but wow I ache today! It was a wedding with pretty handmade yellow details, sunshine, crazy dancing and lovely people, and kept me busy with lots to photograph. Best Wishes Jane and Mark!

Congratulations Vicky & Paul! They got married this weekend at St Leonard’s Church in Burseldon with their reception at Norton Park hotel in Sutton Scotney. Here’s a little preview from their wedding.

Hey I’m Amy
And it’s Wass, rhymes with ‘moss’, by the way. Got that off my husband Jeff who I married 3 years ago, in a castle by a beautiful lake in Italy. We’ve been best friends since college. We live in Southampton with our two cats, Mog and Morbo.
Some other random stuff about me…
• I love music, mostly with guitars.
• I drive an old convertible Mazda. My hair is usually messy. On sunny days this, and the loud music, is the perfect tonic.
• I laugh at bad jokes. My current favourite: What cheese can you hide a horse in? … ..Mascarpone.
• My favourite food is curry
• I am addicted to Diet Coke.
• I like playing geeky board games.
• I go to the cinema a lot. My favourite films are Waynes World and Shaun of the Dead
• I have a twisted love for spreadsheets.
• This year I am learning screen printing.

I love photographing weddings, the best of them are emotional, colourful, romantic, fun, crazy whirlwinds, with interesting people, stunning detail and memorable moments. Photography has been a hobby and a passion of mine for years and I feel privileged to get paid to do this thing I love.
• I learnt photography on film, and love the chemically magic of printing in the darkroom.
• All my work is digital now. My main camera is a Canon 5d MkII. My favourite lens is the 35mm f1.4 L
• I do all my own post production and album design work.
• I favour vibrant colours and punchy black and whites, for a timeless, classic finish, but can add vintage toning or other effects if you like that look.
• I hate having my photo taken. I really do get it when you say that too. I hope I can change your mind.

Rhinefield House Wedding Photography: A look at one of my Favourite Wedding Venues

Rhinefield House in the New Forest is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the South, set in the heart of the Forest with stunning ornamental gardens and a variety of rooms for your wedding ceremony and reception, whether you are planning a grand affair or an intimate celebration. It’s one of my best wedding venues to work at as a wedding photographer in the New Forest. I just love the variety of locations in the grounds, which offer a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photography. I find the interiors of Rhinefield House are fantastic especially for Autumn and Winter weddings, with log fires, cosy wood panelling and those huge chandeliers.

If you are considering Rhinefield House for your wedding, here are some photographs to show you around, all shot during real weddings at Rhinefield.

There are various rooms for you to have your civil ceremony at Rhinefield House. For large weddings you can get married in the aptly named Grand Hall or the Hurst Suite. It is also surprising for such a grand venue, that Rhinefield is also well suited to a more intimate wedding and smaller weddings can be held in the Keepers Room.

Rhinefield House has some great spots for your wedding portraits, and if you are willing to dedicate some time to your portraits a nice stroll around the grounds can make your bride and groom photo session seem very relaxed. There are lots of steps, trees, benches, fountains, an archway of trees, the blue gates to nowhere and the ornamental pond. Being in the forest, Rhinefield changes dramatically through the seasons, from spring blossom to the reds and orange of autumn.

The Grand Hall looks amazing when all made up for your wedding reception, and as darkness falls it always feels very cosy despite the size. I think Rhinefield is my favourite Christmas wedding venue, it just feels very festive with the tree in the corner, and wreaths and fairylights. The Kings room which leads off from the Grand Hall is great for a disco or band and there are also lots of other rooms for guests to split off for a quiet chat.

The Alhambra room is a hidden gem at Rhinefield House, an intimate private dining room designed in a Moroccan style. It is a spectacular setting for a very special intimate celebration.

Trafalgar Park Wedding: Cat & Wayne’s wedding portraits

Two for the price of one today in the epic Christmas blogathon. In case you missed it, I am sharing photos from my friends Cat & Wayne’s beautiful autumn wedding at Trafalgar Park in Salisbury. We’ve already done preparations and the church ceremony and now for some portraits around the grounds and the stunning Cipriani room.

Now is a good time to say a big thanks to Tarah Coonan who assisted me at this wedding and took some brilliant photos. Reminded me I need to use my heavy 70-200mm lens more often.
