Mark & Suzie: Engagement Photos on Brighton Beach
I love Brighton and it was brilliant to get down the coast and meet up with Mark and Suzie for their engagement photos on the beach and iconic Brighton pier. As a photographer I love the locations on offer in Brighton, from the funky lanes of quirky, alternative shops, interesting buildings and graffiti walls, the surreal pavilion and the beach and pier with the kitsch seaside feel. Suzie and Mark are getting married at the Hotel Du Vin in Brighton, a modern boutique hotel tucked away just off the famous seafront promenade. Think they did pretty well in front of the camera, we had a fun little stroll, and hoping we can get back down to the beach for their wedding photos in October.
Models: Luci
Just getting around to blogging these photos from a recent model shoot with the Southern Strobist flickr group. Luci has a great alternative look with fantastic red hair and just check out those boots- The perfect look to try out something a bit creative. These are shot in a tunnel with colour gelled flashes creating the background. Shooting ‘Time for Print’ sessions with aspiring models is great for expanding the portfolio of both parties and I get to try out some stuff I wouldn’t normally be able to do on a wedding day. (Though if you want something a bit more funky for your wedding pics I amvery up for it!)
Before the Wedding
Our relationship doesn’t start and end on your wedding day. Its important for us to get together before the wedding so I can understand your plans such as the timings, contacts and other little details. I like to scope out your venue before the day, so we’ll try and meet there. The more I know beforehand the easier it is to go with the flow and let you get on with enjoying your wedding day.
For most people their wedding is the first time they have ever been the main subject for a professional photographer, and it can seem pretty weird at first. At the pre-wedding meeting I will bring my camera and would like to take a few photos of the two of you to start getting you used to being in front of the camera. You will receive a complimentary mounted 8×10″ print and have the option to buy more if you like.
Engagement Session
If you like the idea of having some photos of the two of you before the wedding why not extend the pre-wedding consultation into a full Engagement photo session for £100. Everyone should have some great photos of them together, so even if you are already married, or aren’t planning on it yet you can book a couples portrait session. So whatever we call it – Engagement, Day after, Just married, Anniversary, Commitment – it works the same.
If you book an engagement photo session with me we’ll spend around an hour on location, catching a series of intimate, fun pictures of just the two of you. You will receive 5x 8×10″ prints or digital files (great parent gifts!) and the option to choose more as prints, canvas, an album or even as personally designed invitations, thank you cards or guest book.
