I’m heading back to New Place again at the beginning of July for Seona and Rob’s summer wedding. Here are some photos from their pre-wedding portrait session. I am once again loving that low evening sunlight through the trees at New Place. Hoping we get another lovely sunny day for the wedding…

Sneak Peek: Caroline & Graham’s Wedding at New Place

Bank holiday weekend, it was bound to rain wasn’t it. I thought we were going to be hidden indoors all day when I arrived in a downpour at New Place for Caroline and Graham’s wedding on Saturday. It was beginning to look really bad when there was no sign of the bride an hour after I had got there. There was a big white dress, so I decided to stick with it and hope someone arrived soon to claim it. (and what a gorgeous dress!) Caroline did make it with plenty of time to spare, the dress looking even more gorgeous on. She brought the fine (ish) weather with her and things all panned out rather well from there.

Jen & Mike’s wedding at New Place, Shirrell Heath

Another wedding at New Place within the week for me, it was strange to be back so soon, however Jen & Mike’s wedding ceremony was definitely one of the most memorable I have shot so far. Sunny day, stunning bride, impressive venue, really lovely couple etc etc, but I’m sorry, I will remember that moment during the ceremony which had everyone, including me, in fits of laughter. The registrar was just getting to an important bit of the ceremony- I think it was somewhere around the vows, and with genius comedy timing a little voice popped up innocently from the back of the room and said ‘Uh OH!!!’

It’s the little things like that which will make everyone remember a wedding, but lets hope these photos help remind everyone of the rest of the day too. Undeterred they managed to say ‘I do’ and after the ceremony everyone enjoyed drinks in the sunshine on the terrace. Mike’s brother gave a very creative best mans speech, suitably humiliating Mike with the dressing up gear, the happy couple did a great job with their choreographed first dance and in the evening the band, the Mushrooms, were excellent (phew, I recommended them when I met Jen & Mike a year ago)

Sam & Glenns Wedding at All Saints Church and New Place

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Samantha and Glenn Roberts. They got married in the quaint All Saint’s church in Dibden, a bright and pretty setting for the emotional ceremony. After the service everyone made the journey down to New Place in Shirrell Heath for champagne in the sunshine and to party the night away. The grounds of New Place are great for photos and I think we got some real winners when we slipped off during coffees to get some romantic bride and groom shots before sunset.

I met Jen and Mike yesterday at New Place, Shirrell Heath to sort out the final details before their wedding there in April. During a pre-wedding meet I like to take the opportunity to get some photos of the couple, a sort of ‘test run’ to see how they are in front of the camera , and hopefully to make them feel more comfortable when the big day comes.
