Pre-wedding Portraits: Lisa & Mike at Chilworth Manor
Lisa & Mike are getting married at Chilworth Manor in Southampton next month. It is a lovely venue with manicured lawns and stepped terrace, but as I parked the car I spotted some wilder ground which I thought would be a great setting for some photos. We probably won’t be able to roam into the long grass on the wedding day, but I think this was a great little spot for some pre-wedding portraits. Almost had some lovely late afternoon sunlight until the clouds came in too. Lets hope for an indian summer (but not the sort with Monsoons)
Pre-wedding portraits: Lucy & Shay in Salisbury
Lucy & Shay get married this week in Salisbury. Here’s a few pics from our pre-wedding meet at the church. I find it’s a great idea to get a couple in front of the camera before the wedding day and get a taster of things to come. Hopefully it helps people realise its not so scary having your photo taken. Hope it helped Lucy! Looking forward to their wedding, especially the bouncy castle! (I’m such a child)

Rebecca & Steven’s Pre-wedding photos in a cornfield
Rebecca and Steven hopped over the fence for a few pre-wedding portraits somewhere in a field in Hampshire. We’ve been scouting locations to stop off for some photos between their wedding ceremony in Andover and reception at Esseborne Manor. There is some beautiful countryside around that area and it will be great to return for their wedding in July.
Mark & Suzie: Engagement Photos on Brighton Beach
I love Brighton and it was brilliant to get down the coast and meet up with Mark and Suzie for their engagement photos on the beach and iconic Brighton pier. As a photographer I love the locations on offer in Brighton, from the funky lanes of quirky, alternative shops, interesting buildings and graffiti walls, the surreal pavilion and the beach and pier with the kitsch seaside feel. Suzie and Mark are getting married at the Hotel Du Vin in Brighton, a modern boutique hotel tucked away just off the famous seafront promenade. Think they did pretty well in front of the camera, we had a fun little stroll, and hoping we can get back down to the beach for their wedding photos in October.

Caroline & Graham’s Pre-wedding photos at New Place
Caroline and Graham are getting married at New Place in Shirrell Heath later this month. We met up to go through the final plans and a pre-wedding photo session in the surrounding woods. Early evening isn’t called the ‘Magic Hour’ by photographers for nothing- the light on sunny summer evenings is perfect for portraits (and of course wedding photos!) I really love how these came out with the sun glinting through the trees.
