We left off in the last post with Wayne waiting at the altar and begin with one of my favourite photos ever: I just love this moment between the three best friends, just as things are about to start… 

Everyone headed off to Trafalgar Park for the reception, I got stuck on the other side of the road for ages,  and next up are the bride and groom portraits…

So lets go back to November, to Trafalgar Park, a manor house on the outskirts of Salisbury. This is straight in there as one of my favourite wedding venues, from the first sight across the long sheep-laden lawn, to the jaw dropping entrance hall and stunning historic interiors. We also refer to it as ‘the zombie house’, where some of 28 Days Later was filmed.  No machine gun posts, sandbags or zombies (hopefully) but just check out that baroque entrance hall, and if architecture’s not your thing, Irregular Choice wedding shoes anyone?

Trafalgar Park is a private house and they were so good allowing use of most of the house, from the bridal preparations upstairs to the various rooms being set up for the reception later that day. The boys appeared briefly, dropping off some bits and bobs and Wayne opened up a gift from his bride, an antique pocket watch.

Upstairs, the bride and her bridesmaids and parents were getting ready, and doing some more gift giving.

Bridesmaid Lolly is the singer in metal band Apnia with Wayne and best men Scott & Ryan, but she can turn her amazing voice to all sorts of music, and she was joined by Cat’s sister Vicky as they practised for their performance in church later. It was beautiful hearing their singing echoing through the corridors of the house. Cat received some earrings from her groom- Wayne, this is what she thought of them…

Working as a wedding photographer I feel very privileged to be part of the special moments, and this is especially true when photographing my friends. Everyone who knows Cat, knows her to be bubbly, confident, and smiley so I love this set of photos as she got into her dress and the nerves really began to set in.

In true Cat style, things were running a little late, and we rushed off to St Osmond’s Catholic church in Salisbury for the ceremony.

I love Rhinefield House in the Autumn, from the drive there through the golden foliage of the New Forest, the house and dramatic clouds reflected in the ornamental lake, to the cosy evenings celebrations in the Great Hall. Penelope and Daniel’s wedding was an autumnal treat, glamourously styled with rich reds and oranges. Penelope is one of those people who is super organised and obsessed with detail, and all credit to her for the fine little touches, from the monogram letters to the hand made menus. She looked amazing in an elegant dress embellished all over with intricate beads, and carried a bouquet of dramatic dark red roses. Daniel was flanked by another glam lady, his sister and best person Lucy. (which seems unusual but she’s the third best lady I’ve come across this year.) The day flew by, from ceremony to afternoon drinks, photos in Rhinefields gorgeous grounds and the dinner and speeches- Here are some highlights. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Richards!

I like dates like 10.10.10. In fact when I got in the car that night and the clock said 10.10 on 10.10.10 I did a little high five (to myself, because I am sad like that) Anyway, Mark & Suzie chose to get married on 10.10.10 at super cool Hotel Du Vin in super cool Brighton. Hard to believe it was actually October, the sun was out and the whole city had hit the promenade. The ceremony and reception were held in the Dome at the Pub Du Vin, which is a gorgeous, big bright room at the back of Pub du Vin which you would never expect just off the seafront and the Brighton Lanes. The ceremony was fun and personal, they had asked their readers to surprise them and they came with some brilliant personal poems. Mark and Suzie live abroad working on the F1 circuit, but their wedding brought together cool touches of seaside England, from the cupcakes with iconic Brighton images, the bags of sweeties for favours, and the serving of ice creams and bacon sandwiches for the evening buffet. We never really expected to get down to the beach for their wedding photos, it was October after all, but it had turned out to be a perfect summer’s day, so Mark & Suzie braved the crowds for photos on the pebbles and a free ice cream. In the evening we had great fun with the Photobooth (pics to follow soon)
