Wedding Books: More Photos of sample albums
I’ve had a batch of orders in and a new sample album so wanted to show some photos so you can see more. The Wedding book is a sleek and modern coffee-table book with multiple photographs designed in clean, contemporary layouts. It’s my cheapest album offering but does not compromise on quality or style, produced by one of the best professional photographic labs in the UK. Prices start at £300 with 100 photos; enough to properly tell the story of your wedding day (though you can add more if you like)
Many people prefer the accessibility of a book rather than a big album and these handy sized books will fit on your bookshelf .

The Wedding Book has a photographic cover, front and back and looks just like the books you’ll buy in shops
Photos are printed directly on to the heavyweight silk coated paper pages in clean and modern layouts.
The pages of the Wedding Book are bound so that they lay flat when you open the book.
This means that nothing is lost in the gutter of the book spine, and you can have photographs stretching across the whole spread.
The Wedding Book is packaged in a handmade keepsake box which will keep it neat for years to come.
The standard book is a handy 10×10” but you can choose to upgrade to a 12×12” album for an additional £50.
Parent Books, smaller duplicates of your main album, are available in 8×8in size.
These make lovely gifts for your family to thank them for their help in your wedding.
Parent Books are £100 each or £150 for two, so you can treat both sides of the family.
The Parent Book is very similar to the main Wedding Book but has more traditional book binding with the gutter.
Now you can see why the layflat pages of the main book are so unique.
Everyone love them!
New Album samples for 2010: The Storybook Flushmount
Earlier this year I attended Focus on Imaging at Birmingham NEC, the largest photographic trade show in the UK. This is the best place to see a wide variety of different suppliers and have a hands on touch and feel of their products. My primary mission was to scout out my album offerings for the coming year and I’m pleased to have found some great new suppliers to add to those I want to continue with.
Shopping for your business is different to shopping for yourself. You can’t simply go by your own taste, so I was looking for a selection of different types of album so my clients have a good choice. The product is the first and most important thing I was looking for- modern books and albums which make the most of the photos, with excellent quality and finish. Service is important, I’ve been stung before with long delivery times and poor service and if I’m let down by my suppliers that reflects badly on my business. Then of course price- certainly not what it should all be about, but I want be able to offer a range of options to suit different budgets and be able to offer good value without compromising on quality.
So, decisions made I am pleased to show off some of my new sample albums today.
First up is the Storybook Flushmount album, featuring Jo & Graham’s gorgeous summer wedding at Mottisfont Abbey.
The 10×14” size is substantial but still easy to handle. These books are also available in 12×12 square.
The album has a square spine for a sleek, more modern finish. This album has 40 pages, which is a good size for most weddings.
Every page from front to back will open up and lay flat.
This allows photos to be laid out in full page spreads and photos can print right across the centre fold with no loss into the spine.
Layouts are ‘magazine style’ which allows a mixture of full page prints and smaller photos perfect for a ’storytelling’ style of album including all your little details.
This Sample has an Acrylic cover, which makes the photographic print on the front really stand out.
A Faux Leather cover with embossed names, a photographic printed cover and a brushed metal style cover are also available.
The Pages are lustre photographic paper, mounted on card. These are printed by one of the UKs top professional photo labs.
The album is presented in a velvet lined presentation box which will keep it safe for many years to come.
Unlike many other albums manufacturers who make this sort of album, these are produced in the UK and should be in your hands within 2 weeks of confirming to print.
The Storybook Flushmount album is available as an upgrade to your wedding package starting from £300, depending on your choice of cover and number of pages.

After the Wedding
Photographing the actual wedding day is only a small part of all the work that goes into delivering your final pictures. So while you are enjoying your honeymoon I will be downloading, backing up, sorting, selecting, colour correcting, cropping, sharpening and photoshopping away, so approximately 3 weeks after the wedding you will recieve your disc of fully edited photos.
If you can’t wait that long I will blog some selections a few days after the wedding, so you can have a little reminder of that whirlwind day. Once you have your disc I will also open up the full online gallery so your friends and family can have a look at all of your photos, from wherever they are, and they can order prints aswell.
Next comes your album design. While I am editing I will also be designing a layout that will feature the best photos and key moments to tell the story of your wedding day in a clean and contemporary layout with a logical flow. With the modern layouts of all my album offerings it is important to allow some artistic license to create the design so I will design the first draft of your album layout and present this to you as a starter. It’s not that I want to dictate your album choices for you, just that I’ve found through experience that is what works best. Otherwise normal life takes over and couples can take many months to make their album choices, they will usually be overwhelmed by it, and it usually results in more a difficult design because the couple arent usually thinking about the complete picture when they pick and mix their photo choices. Hopefully you’ll be blown away with the initial design and off it will go to print, but this is the stage where you can add, remove, and swap photos and say if you just dont like this and that page design.
Once you have approved the design I send the files off to print. Turnaround times vary between 7 days and 5 weeks depending on your album choice. If you stick with the One package Wedding Book, this is printed in the UK and should be in your hands in approximately 10 days.
Any duplicate parent books must be ordered at the same time as your main album, otherwise extra charges may apply. You may also want to order photographic thank you cards, canvas wall art or framed prints- these can be added anytime after the wedding.
So, album in hand, that’s where we part, but its nice to hear back from you and see how you are getting along, so keep in touch. I hope you will be extremely pleased with your wedding photography and will happily recommend me to you friends and family. Most of all I hope that you look back at your photos in 50 years time and they bring back many amazing memories of your special day.
