Chris & Becky’s Wedding at Stanwell House in Lymington

Becky and Chris got married at cool boutique hotel Stanwell House in Lymington. Becky was an absolute star, having spent the morning in A&E for a scratched eye, she stayed chilled and cheery as she got ready. She wore one of my favourite dresses ever (why did noone tell me about these when I got married!), a stunning sequinned dress by designer Jenny Packham. It was lovely civil ceremony at Stanwell, I loved Chris’ mum reading ‘Dizzy, my head is spinning’ and they wrote their own vows which was really special. The reception was a like a big reunion, with friends and family coming together from across the world (Becky is Australian) The setting, food and styling was very elegant but the day was relaxed and friendly. Becky & Chris are great fun together, and clearly very much in love. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Angus!

Caitriona & Rich’s Wedding at the Longhouse, Somerset

Caitriona & Rich got married at one of my favourite wedding venues, the Eco-friendly Longhouse in Somerset. It was early April and a beautiful Spring day in the countryside. With a relaxed day planned they chose to have their portraits before the wedding ceremony and met in the garden for a romantic ‘first look’ before heading off around Bruton for some photos. Seeing each other before the wedding is a break from tradition, but by arranging a set up First Look, you can share a moment much more intimate than at the altar in front of everyone. You can then do your portraits without missing the party and spend more time with your guests during the reception. Its something I would encourage all my brides and grooms to consider and I hope these photos show what a nice idea it is.
Anyway, back to the wedding, and the morning’s non-traditional meeting did not take any of the magic away from the lovely ceremony. After the marriage everyone went out into the gardens for Pimms and canapes. During the drinks reception the happy couple stepped away from the party and took a private moment together to sip champagne. Meanwhile the room was set up for the wedding breakfast, with handmade daffodil and grass table centres and chocolate brownie wedding cake. Caitriona put loads of hard work into making things for the wedding, growing the daffs for the table centres and stringing up bright felt bunting and even knitting the bouquets and buttonholes.
Into the evening and guests danced to the Ceilidh band and when darkness fell a small group ventured into the field and released chinese lanterns which was a beautiful end to my day. Here is a selection of photos from their beautiful wedding day. Congratulations Rich & Caitriona!

Lisa & Gordon’s springtime Surrey wedding

Lisa & Gordon were married at St Andrews Garrison church in Aldershot, with the reception at the Bush Hotel in Farnham, Surrey. When I met with them last year, Gordon was living and working in England while Lisa was living over in Ireland. They were spending their weekends back and forth between both homes, and trying to organise a wedding aswell, which must have been no easy task. But like all good love stories, their relationship has stood the test and they made it to the wedding with big plans for the future. Gordon recently gave up his job and home in England and is moving for a new life in Ireland with his wife. Hows that for a happy ever after? Best of luck with your new life Gordon and Lisa, many congratulations!
Here’s how their day went…
