Just a small but momentous announcement (a bit like its topic) Our beautiful daughter Eleanor Jane Wass was born in May 2015 and has turned our world upside down. She surprised us arriving 10 weeks early, weighing only 2lb2oz and spent 45 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit. The past few months have been pretty damn crazy, but she is a feisty little fighter and is now doing great.
It’s all been a bit quiet on the photography front, we’ve had lots of cuddles to catch up on, but I’m looking forward to getting back to work with some lovely 2016 weddings. I still have some availability for this season, offered now at a special discounted rate so do get in touch to check your date if you are still looking for your photographer.
Here’s an interesting thought: Out of all the things you spend money on for your wedding, your wedding photos are the only thing that will increase in value. It’s not necessarily something you will think of at the time you are considering paying the florist, feeding all your guests and buying the perfect dress, but in years to come it will only really be the photos that have lasted and that you will treasure the most.
While digital photos are the easy way to store and share your wedding photos, a wedding album is still the best way to pull it all together as a finished story, and give you a tangible memento of your wedding day. Albums are bespoke, individually designed and made books of your unique day.
The main album I offer is the Storybook Wedding Album. A luxury, contemporary album, the Storybook is a fantastic way to display your photos in a modern layout with a superior finish. Images are photographically printed flush on the thick card pages which open up to flat double page spreads. Layouts are ‘magazine style’ which allows a mixture of full page prints and smaller photos perfect for a ’storytelling’ style of album including all your little details. Choose from covers in faux and real leather with embossed names and the acrylic photo front as shown on my sample here. The album is presented in a velvet lined presentation box which will keep it safe for many years to come.
My sample is a 40 page 12×12″ Storybook album with Acrylic photo cover and faux leather backing. It features Sarah & Tom’s colourful Tipi Wedding
You can also choose to add Parent Books to your package. These small duplicate versions of your main album make lovely gifts.

We’ve lived in Southsea for one whole year today. I’ve been bicycling and instagramming my way around Portsmouth, from summer days at the bandstand to chilly prom cycle rides on boxing day, and I thought I’d share some of my phone camera snaps. I can’t wait for another summertime by the seaside.
Lynne and Jason get married soon at DeVere Warbrook House near Hook. We had a little wander around the grounds one evening and caught the last of the sunlight for their portraits in the woods. Warbrook House is a stunning setting but photography is about light, right? Just love that warm sunlight in the golden hour before sunset.

Rhinefield House in the New Forest is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the South, set in the heart of the Forest with stunning ornamental gardens and a variety of rooms for your wedding ceremony and reception, whether you are planning a grand affair or an intimate celebration. It’s one of my best wedding venues to work at as a wedding photographer in the New Forest. I just love the variety of locations in the grounds, which offer a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photography. I find the interiors of Rhinefield House are fantastic especially for Autumn and Winter weddings, with log fires, cosy wood panelling and those huge chandeliers.
If you are considering Rhinefield House for your wedding, here are some photographs to show you around, all shot during real weddings at Rhinefield.
There are various rooms for you to have your civil ceremony at Rhinefield House. For large weddings you can get married in the aptly named Grand Hall or the Hurst Suite. It is also surprising for such a grand venue, that Rhinefield is also well suited to a more intimate wedding and smaller weddings can be held in the Keepers Room.
Rhinefield House has some great spots for your wedding portraits, and if you are willing to dedicate some time to your portraits a nice stroll around the grounds can make your bride and groom photo session seem very relaxed. There are lots of steps, trees, benches, fountains, an archway of trees, the blue gates to nowhere and the ornamental pond. Being in the forest, Rhinefield changes dramatically through the seasons, from spring blossom to the reds and orange of autumn.
The Grand Hall looks amazing when all made up for your wedding reception, and as darkness falls it always feels very cosy despite the size. I think Rhinefield is my favourite Christmas wedding venue, it just feels very festive with the tree in the corner, and wreaths and fairylights. The Kings room which leads off from the Grand Hall is great for a disco or band and there are also lots of other rooms for guests to split off for a quiet chat.
The Alhambra room is a hidden gem at Rhinefield House, an intimate private dining room designed in a Moroccan style. It is a spectacular setting for a very special intimate celebration.
