Fine Art Wedding Albums

Fine Art Wedding Photography Album-5

The Fine Art album by Folio is a beautiful wedding album with a unique matte paper finish. Bound in high quality natural leather, opulent silk, or colourful cotton, these versatile albums can suit every sort of wedding. Pages are made from archival quality fine art paper, with a distinctive matte finish and lovely feel. Photos are printed with the latest pigment based inks, giving a vibrancy and clarity to colour and black & white images umatched by traditional photographic prints and albums. Hand bound, the album opens out flat with an almost invisible crease so images can be printed right across the double page spread. All that luxury, you might be surprised to know these albums have great Green credentials, made in the UK, all paper is recycled and packaged in environmentally friendly boxes with minimal waste.

My sample is a 12″x12″ Jade leather album, showing photos from Lucy & Matt’s pretty flower filled wedding at Jermyn’s House

Fine Art Wedding Albums by Amy Wass Photography

Southampton to Southsea Wedding Photographer

Big news in the Wass world: We have moved to Southsea.

A fresh start by the seaside, in a beautiful Victorian house, nearer to our friends and family, and my favourite curry house. Jeff and I were both born in Portsmouth, grew up in Havant and have spent a lot of time here since we first got together at Chaos on the pier back in the day. The city is full of character and history, there is a brilliant creative scene here, and lots of cool independent shops, bars and restaurants. We will ride our bikes along the promenade, walk to the pub for Sunday lunch, eat cake at the Tenth Hole and take our posh pink BBQ to the beach in the summer. 2011 was a bit crazy in our personal world, so we are looking forward to our new life in Pompey.

I photograph weddings all over Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey and Wiltshire, so although I am 20 miles down the road, there should be no change to where I will be being a wedding photographer. Portsmouth is awesome for portrait locations, and I’ve found a few cool spots for meetings too, so come on down and I will show you our fair city.

Next news: I haven’t blogged a wedding for about a year! Things have been pretty busy and disrupted around here for a while and blogging has been low on the priority list so I have a big backlog to share. Planning a massive best of 2011 post soon and then on with 2012…

Website Problems

Ok, so you have to be on my website to be reading this, but you might come back later and find its all gone wrong for a bit so I thought it was worth putting a little note on here to say ‘full service will resume shortly’  Got a few problems with hackers and the website and email may be up and down for the next few days while its getting sorted.

Loads to post this week too, so stay patient for a sneak preview from Melissa and Damian’s Southampton wedding, Nicola and Matt’s pre-wedding portraits and highlights from Claire and Dave’s summertime wedding at Elmers Court.

Southsea dinosaur

Here’s another one from Dave and Marie’s Southsea wedding, featuring the now extinct Ultrasaurus, who also was subject to malicious attack this week and got burnt down 🙁

Wedding Books: More Photos of sample albums

I’ve had a batch of orders in and a new sample album so wanted to show some photos so you can see more. The Wedding book is a sleek and modern coffee-table book with multiple photographs designed in clean, contemporary layouts. It’s my cheapest album offering but does not compromise on quality or style, produced by one of the best professional photographic labs in the UK.  Prices start at £300 with 100 photos; enough to properly tell the story of your wedding day (though you can add more if you like)

Wedding Book Samples-1-3 Wedding Book Samples-8 Many people prefer the accessibility of a book rather than a big album and these handy sized books will fit on your bookshelf .

Wedding Book Samples-13Wedding Book Samples-16 The Wedding Book has a photographic cover, front and back and looks just like the books you’ll buy in shops

Wedding Book Samples-11 Photos are printed directly on to the heavyweight silk coated paper pages in clean and modern layouts.

Wedding Book Samples-9 Wedding Book Samples-12 The pages of the Wedding Book are bound so that they lay flat when you open the book.
This means that nothing is lost in the gutter of the book spine, and you can have photographs stretching across the whole spread.

Wedding Book Samples-14 The Wedding Book  is packaged in a handmade keepsake box which will keep it neat for years to come.

Wedding Book Samples-5 The standard book is a handy 10×10” but you can choose to upgrade to a 12×12” album for an additional £50.

Wedding Book Samples-6 Parent Books, smaller duplicates of your main album, are available in 8x8in size.
These make lovely gifts for your family to thank them for their help in your wedding.

Wedding Book Samples-2Parent Books are £100 each or £150 for two, so you can treat both sides of the family.

Wedding Book Samples-4The Parent Book is very similar to the main Wedding Book but has more traditional book binding with the gutter.
Now you can see why the layflat pages of the main book are so unique.

Everyone love them!

New Album samples for 2010: The Storybook Flushmount

Earlier this year I attended Focus on Imaging at Birmingham NEC, the largest photographic trade show in the UK. This is the best place to see a wide variety of different suppliers and have a hands on touch and feel of their products. My primary mission was to scout out my album offerings for the coming year and I’m pleased to have found some great new suppliers to add to those I want to continue with.

Shopping for your business is different to shopping for yourself. You can’t simply go by your own taste, so I was looking for a selection of different types of album so my clients have a good choice. The product is the first and most important thing I was looking for- modern books and albums which make the most of the photos, with excellent quality and finish. Service is important, I’ve been stung before with long delivery times and poor service and if I’m let down by my suppliers that reflects badly on my business. Then of course price- certainly not what it should all be about, but I want be able to offer a range of options to suit different budgets and be able to offer good value without compromising on quality.

So, decisions made  I am pleased to show off some of my new sample albums today.

First up is the Storybook Flushmount album, featuring Jo & Graham’s gorgeous summer wedding at Mottisfont Abbey.

Sample Album-4

The 10×14” size is substantial but still easy to handle. These books are also available in 12×12 square.

Sample Album-9Sample Album-3

The album has a square spine for a sleek, more modern finish. This album has 40 pages, which is a good size for most weddings.

Sample Album-12

Every page from front to back will open up and lay flat.

Sample Album-13

This allows photos to be laid out in full page spreads and photos can print right across the centre fold with no loss into the spine.

Sample Album-11

Layouts are ‘magazine style’ which allows a mixture of full page prints and smaller photos perfect for a ‘storytelling’ style of album including all your little details.

Sample Album-10

This Sample has an Acrylic cover, which makes the photographic print on the front really stand out.

Sample Album-1-2

A Faux Leather cover with embossed names, a photographic printed cover and a brushed metal style cover are also available.

Sample Album-8

The Pages are lustre photographic paper, mounted on card. These are printed by one of the UKs top professional photo labs.

Sample Album-7 Sample Album-6 Sample Album-5 Sample Album-2

The album is presented in a velvet lined presentation box which will keep it safe for many years to come.

Sample Album-1

Unlike many other albums manufacturers who make this sort of album, these are produced in the UK and should be in your hands within 2 weeks of confirming to print.
