Harry & Ben’s Balmer Lawn Wedding
Harriet and Ben got married on a sunny spring day at Highfield Church in Southampton, with the reception at Balmer Lawn hotel in the New Forest. Harry said they were getting married in Spring because she loved daffodils. So we had to find some for their wedding, even if it was a roundabout in Lyndhurst on the way through the forest.
The full gallery is online for friends and family here, and here are some highlights from the day..

Thanks to the lovely Tarah Coonan for working with me on this wedding. Even though she just laughed when a tiny, mean pony attacked me and stole my softmints. Seems Londoners are easily wowed by New Forest ponies.
West Wittering Beach Engagement photos: Lucy & Matt
There was actually one day this month when it wasn’t raining. This was the evening we went to beautiful West Wittering beach in West Sussex for Lucy & Matt’s pre-wedding portraits. I like a good location for photographing and the deserted sandy beach, colourful beach huts, dunes, blue sea and warm evening sunlight were perfect. Looking forward to Lucy and Matt’s Hillier Gardens wedding next week (more sun please!)

Engagement portraits in the New Forest: Kirsteen & Matt
I met up with Kirsteen and Matt on a chilly Spring day at Rhinefield Ornamental Driveway in the New Forest for their pre-wedding portraits. They got married a couple of weeks ago, so look out for their Elmers Court wedding on the blog soon.

Southsea Portraits: Kelly & Phil by the seaside
I had a great afternoon with Kelly & Phil along Southsea seafront and Old Portsmouth for their pre-wedding portraits. I had just moved down to Southsea and it was lovely to get out by the sea on one of the first hot days of the year. I think their outdoor wedding in May is going to be a lot of fun, looking forward to it.

Southampton to Southsea Wedding Photographer
Big news in the Wass world: We have moved to Southsea.
A fresh start by the seaside, in a beautiful Victorian house, nearer to our friends and family, and my favourite curry house. Jeff and I were both born in Portsmouth, grew up in Havant and have spent a lot of time here since we first got together at Chaos on the pier back in the day. The city is full of character and history, there is a brilliant creative scene here, and lots of cool independent shops, bars and restaurants. We will ride our bikes along the promenade, walk to the pub for Sunday lunch, eat cake at the Tenth Hole and take our posh pink BBQ to the beach in the summer. 2011 was a bit crazy in our personal world, so we are looking forward to our new life in Pompey.
I photograph weddings all over Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey and Wiltshire, so although I am 20 miles down the road, there should be no change to where I will be being a wedding photographer. Portsmouth is awesome for portrait locations, and I’ve found a few cool spots for meetings too, so come on down and I will show you our fair city.
Next news: I haven’t blogged a wedding for about a year! Things have been pretty busy and disrupted around here for a while and blogging has been low on the priority list so I have a big backlog to share. Planning a massive best of 2011 post soon and then on with 2012…
Pre-Wedding Portraits in Bluebell woods: Alex & Nick
I met up with Alex and Nick and their black Labrador Cree (??) for their pre-wedding portraits up at Farley Mount near Winchester. They got married last weekend in an amazing outdoor ceremony in a field, but for now here are their pre-wedding portraits in the bluebell woods.
