Sarah & Alex’s Halloween wedding

This wedding rocked! I have been looking forward to Sarah & Alex’s Halloween wedding all year. I love photographing weddings that are unique and personal to the couple, and it was obvious when I met them that they weren’t going to do things the traditional way. Sarah surprised everyone in a white wedding dress (ok so thats pretty traditional, but most would say its an alternative for her) and rocked it with knee high Converse all stars, diamante spider jewellery and of course her tattooes proudly on show. Alex went all Doctor Who in a dark suit and matching converse. They carried a purple and black spooky theme throughout, with bridesmaids in 50s style spiderweb lace dresses and the men in black suits and shirts and spiderweb ties. The reception venue, Kings Court, was transformed into a spooky haunted house, complete with Lurch serving up drinks.

Anyway, I could go on describing things but pictures are much better. I’m having a hard time going through and picking out some sneak previews because there were so many details and great things to photograph but here’s a few to get you going. The full gallery is now online for friends and family.

Sarah & Alex- Many congratulations, thanks for being a LOT of fun. I hope you had a rocking wedding and wish you a lot of fun and happines for the future!

Jess & Mark’s Wedding at Crewe Hall

Jess & Mark moved their wedding from Southampton back to Jess’s home terrritory and I’m so glad I went with them. Nice to get out of the usual Hampshire wedding venues and go on an adventure up North. They chose Crewe Hall for their reception, an awesome Jacobean mansion with the most amazing elaborate interiors. I could have occupied them for most of the day for photos amongst the dark decor, but thats not really what weddings are about is it. This wedding was all about Jess and Mark, and they held a truly personal, warm and fun wedding for a large group of friends and family.

My weekend started at the wedding rehersal on Friday and I knew it was going to be a good wedding as the bride and half the congregation were already in tears that evening. I joined them again Saturday morning as Jess got ready with her family and bridesmaids, and then headed off to the lovely village church of All Saints in Bednall. Jess and Mark are both talented musicians, and they incorporated this into the beautiful service , with Mark arranging the music for the bride’s entrance, and involving their friends in the music, on the organ and singing from the choir Cantores Michaelis. It was a very moving and spiritual service.

After the ceremony everyone headed up the motorway to Crewe Hall for drinks and photos, and before you knew it , time for the recieving line and dinner was served. The music continued into the speeches, and Mark serenaded Jess (in her white dress)  and then the Best Men sang a toast to the happy couple. In the evening guests got silly on the dancfloor with a Ceilidh, which is a great way of getting people up and dancing.

Here are some sneak previews of their wedding photos. The full gallery is now online for friends and family at www.amywass.photoreflect.com and is passworded with the bride’s maiden name.

Many Congratulations Jess & Mark!

Just one: Jess & Mark’s Wedding at Crewe Hall

I got back this afternoon from Staffordshire after yesterday’s beautiful, musical wedding at Crewe Hall. Proper blog post to come soon, but had to post just one sneak preview from Jess & Mark’s wedding. It was a long and busy day but reminds me why I love wedding photography; so much warmth, love, personality and fun crammed into one special day.

Jess & Mark, thank you for transporting me oop north and having me there as part of your wedding. Many, many congratulations!
