Shelley & Simon’s Steeple Court Manor Wedding Photography

I had such a fun day at Shelley & Simon’s wedding yesterday. They got married at St Mary’s church in Sholing, with the wedding reception at Steeple Court Manor in Botley. The weather has been bad for the past few weeks but they were so lucky, it was a gorgeous day. I joined Shelley while she was getting ready at home, looking very glamourous in a beautiful full dress and some very high heeled shoes! No photos during the church ceremony unfortunately, but plenty of catching up later at the reception at Steeple Court Manor, which has a lovely garden for drinks and photos.

The traditional wedding stuff out of the way and the highlight of the evening had to be the photobooth. I have not laughed at a wedding so much, it was such fun watching everyone donning stupid hats, glasses and props and being silly for the camera. With the aid of my assistant Libby we set up a mini-studio in the corner of the marquee and brought along some props for the guests to get crazy.  I think it went down a treat and everyone had great fun posing for pictures. I think Simon lied to me when he said he didn’t like having his photo taken earlier in the day- maybe the feather boa gave him that confidence he needed.

Mr & Mrs Arthur- thanks for being up for a laugh and being great fun. Hope you had an amazing day and many congratulations!

Here’s a selection from the day. The full gallery is now online at www.amywass.photoreflect.com Dont forget to check out the photobooth pictures too.

Baby Photography at Home- Alexander

At 9 months old baby has discovered crawling, chewing, dribbling, and generally wriggling all over the place. So a bit of a challenge to photograph! But so cute too. Here are some photos from my portrait session with baby Alexander at home. Alex will no doubt have a starring role in his mum and dad’s wedding later this year, by which time I guess he will be walking.

My Italian Wedding Photos

Last week was my 2nd wedding anniversary so I thought I would share some pictures from my own wedding.

Jeff and I didn’t want a traditional English wedding so we decided to have our wedding abroad. We flew out with 16 of our close friends and family and got married in Malcesine, a pretty village on Lake Garda in Italy. The ceremony was held on the terrace of the medieval Malcesine castle perched on the rocky lake shore. It was so beautiful looking out over the blue lake and mountains, with the terracotta roofs and windy streets of the village below. After the civil ceremony we walked through the cobbled streets and boarded our private boat for a champagne cruise on the lake. We spent our evening at the lakeside, eating, drinking and laughing, enjoying a scrummy 7 course Italian feast and plenty of wine.

A wedding abroad is not for everyone, but if you want to do something different to the big family do then I cannot recommend it enough. The setting, the weather, the food and drink, are all so amazing. The whole week we were at Lake Garda was a celebration and a really great holiday. (Jeff maintains the best day was in fact speed boat day, not the wedding)

Our photos were taken by Gwen at Lake Garda Weddings, who were excellent in organising the whole wedding for us (another recommendation there). Such a great place for wedding photos too, I would love to go back and photograph a wedding in Malcesine  (ps- I you are getting married in Lake Garda and want an English Photographer who knows the location then get in touch for a great rate!)

Julia & Craig’s Wedding at Colden Common Church & Winchester Royal Hotel

Julia & Craig got married at their local church, the Holy Trinity in Colden Common, with their wedding reception at the Winchester Royal hotel hidden away in the centre of Winchester city centre. I had a relaxing morning with Julia and her family getting glammed up, and then on to the church for the nuptials as the sun finally broke through the clouds. We decided to stop somewhere between the wedding and the reception for some Bride & Groom photos. Out into the Hampshire countryside, I had scouted out a perfect cornfield for some stunning photos, and a bit of time for the new Mr & Mrs Osgerby to relax. Hope they think it was worth the time, I’m really pleased with the results!

Then off to the hotel where everyone enjoyed drinks in the flowery garden before sitting down to the wedding breakfast. I was amazed how beautiful the room’s looked, having visited several weeks before, the transformation was fantastic, and Julia and Craig had put in so much effort into the details.  I always love the speeches, its good to hear the stuff you really should know before the wedding, and I was especially pleased to go to a wedding where everyone placed bets on the timing of the speeches, something that always happens amongst my own group of friends. Think the lady on the naughty table at the back won it-  and yes you lot I do have those moustache photos! :)

A fun wedding, with lots of nice people, and I hope this carries on for the rest of their married life. Many Congratulations Mr & Mrs Osgerby!

Here are some sneak previews of their wedding photos. The full gallery is now online for friends and family at www.amywass.photoreflect.com and is passworded with the bride’s maiden name.

Jo & Graham’s Mottisfont Abbey Wedding Photos

I met Jo and Graham through my friend Laura, and was so pleased when they booked me because they are such a lovely couple. I was even more pleased when we went to look around Mottisfont as it is so amazingly beautiful for photos I could have kept them all afternoon snapping away. The National Trust house, set in stunning grounds near Romsey was such a grand but also intimate setting, being open exclusively for their wedding on Friday.

I joined Jo and her family at her mum’s in the morning, while she slipped on that gorgeous soft pink wedding dress, then headed off to Mottisfont for the main event.  The touching ceremony with a heart felt reading from Jo’s sister, was followed by drinks on the lawn and the wedding breakfast in the Old Dining Room.  We managed to steal away before and after dinner for some bride and groom photos in the grounds, including the sweet scented rose gardens, and I’m so glad Jo & Graham indluged me with the time to really get the best from the location. In the evening everyone headed to the Mill Arms in Dunbridge for drinks and the disco.

Jo & Graham, many congratulations, you seem great together and may you have a long and happy marriage. Have a fantastic honeymoon in Aruba!

Here are some sneak previews from their wedding photos. The full gallery is now online for friends and family at this link and the password is Jo’s maiden name.
